ISSN New Zealand

Member since 1975

New Zealand joined the ISSN network not long after it started on the 11th of July 1975, and it was announced in the February 1976 issue of NZLA newsletter that “the first allocation of ISSNs has arrived from Paris and the National Library has begun to assign ISSNs”. Over this time the New Zealand ISSN Centre has assigned over 21,000 ISSN.

The New Zealand ISSN Centre is still part of the National Library of New Zealand, and the ISSN duties are carried out by a member of the Serials Cataloguing Team.

The ISSN Librarian is currently Ingrid Foster, assisted by Helen Jenkins and Jenny Hammond.
